An experimental postdoctoral position is available with Gregory Hall and Trevor Sears in the Gas Phase Molecular Dynamics group in the Chemistry Department of Brookhaven National Laboratory. Candidates must have a recent Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in laser spectroscopy and chemical dynamics. Experience with at least some of the following will be helpful: cw high resolution lasers, ns pulsed lasers, frequency comb methods, kinetics, polarization effects, vacuum methods, LabView programming, and radio frequency electronics.
Research topics of current interest are the application of line broadening and transient double resonance measurements for collision dynamics studies on free radicals, energy transfer and depolarization measurements of free radicals, and new near-infrared spectroscopy of small polyatomic free radicals. The research is supported by the Gas Phase Chemical Physics program of the US Department of Energy.
Interested candidates should include a brief statement of research interests, curriculum vitae, and list of three references with their online application.
