Dear MCGers,
I thought some of you will be interested in this upcoming workshop on
'Exploring Cultural Collections with Visualization': 'there is a growing
interest in exploring collections with other means than traditional search
interfaces. This workshop brings researchers and practitioners together
from art, design, humanities and science to explore the space between
information visualization and exploration of digital collections'.
It's run over 11-12 Sept., 2014 in London. Find out more at
http://searchisover.org/ and register via http://www.dl2014.org/
While you may have seen an earlier call for papers, registration is also
open to those who didn't put in a proposal. As the site says, 'If you
intend to participate, but have not submitted a paper or poster, please
share research in progress in the form of an interactive demo, paper
sketches or blue-sky ideas to discuss and develop with other participants'.
Cheers, Mia
Disclaimer: I was on the programme committee so am peripherally involved.
Regardless, it sounds like a great event and if I wasn't moving to Dublin
for a few months at the end of that week, I'd be there myself!
