That is a shame.
We have latched on to this scheme, and have been promoting to our users across the country at every opportunity as an amazing way for them to get access to articles we can't supply to them.
2 of our staff tried it out at their local (smaller) public libraries and in both cases had to convince the staff/volunteers there that it existed - so I there's possibly something public libraries themselves need to do to get their staff in the know?

There doesn't seem to be any easy way to promote this through social media as the website lacks even a facebook like/share button?

Subject: Phut!
Efforts by CILIP and SCL to contact Unis and other Higher Ed should have been *massive* - to bring new members into public libraries. Many advocates rejoiced when they heard about this initiative, but now it has gone "phut". No effective advocacy by the professional bodies? - How very, very disappointing that is.
But so much effort in fiddling with the bye laws/governance while libraries and the porfession fade into oblivion!

'Dismal' start for Access to Research initiative
Dr Murray-Rust said that the total number of users reported in six months indicated that just half a person per day was accessing the service in each local authority involved. "That is appalling," he said. "It is a pretty dismal record that represents the inadequate nature of the scheme.
