Hello,
I've just joined the list and got an autoreply asking me to briefly introduce myself.
So here goes...
I'm a HCPC Registered Health Psychologist and a medical doctor. I did my Psychology degree way back in 1993, then finished my PhD in 1998. I worked in Health Psychology research for a few years and did a bit of lecturing. I finished my medical degree in 2010 and have spent the last 4 years in a variety of hospital posts (working as a doctor rather than a Health Psychologist).
I'm now two thirds of the way through my GP training. For the next 2 years I will be working 50% in a GP surgery and 50% in the Academic Unit of Primary Medical Care, which is part of the University of Sheffield.
I'm interested in how mobile phone apps can be used to deliver health behaviour change interventions. I'd like to find out ways that apps can help GPs work with patients towards a common goal of healthier behaviour.
Looking forward to getting involved in the discussions,
Brian
