Triad Resourcing is currently recruiting for a number of GIS Technical Consultants. The role can be home based but there will be travel to sites across mainly the south of England.

The post offers an attractive salary and a great benefits package. We are looking for a mix of mid level and senior consultants for the post.

Candidates must be UK nationals as you would be required to undergo DV Security Clearance procedures.

My client is an Esri Partner and the majority of their technical activities involve the deployment and customisation of the latest Esri technology within customer environments.  The following technical
skills are considered essential pre-requisites for this post:
 
Essential:

•Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of a GIS and its applications to support business decision making
•Advanced knowledge of ArcGIS Desktop software at version 9.3.1 and later
•Knowledge of ArcGIS Server at v 9.3.1 and later
•Experience of designing and implementing geospatial work flows
•Knowledge of Model Builder / Python
•Experience of geospatial data management in file based and RDBMS environments
•Experience in the use of geospatial analysis to support decision making
•Experience of direct customer liaison
•Basic knowledge of OGC standards
•Able to interact confidently with customers
 
Desirable:

•Understanding and experience of the wider Defence and Security domains.
•Ability to support wider Business
Development and promotion activities.
•Understanding or experience in delivering
MoD R&D programmes.
•Experience of design and deployment of geospatial web applications
•Experience of the use of imagery within spatial analysis
•Experience of other geospatial software including open source
•Experience of implementing desktop/server based geospatial software
•Experience of troubleshooting geospatial systems 

Work Activities


•Staff are employed on a wide variety of projects across the Defence and Security domain, with staff working both as individuals, and as part of a wider team.  On occasion, staff are embedded into customer organisations to provide direct support to the customer.

•As well as technical integration, configuration and development outputs, other outputs and deliverables are varied and include written reports and investigations, verbal presentations or the running of workshops to capture user requirements.

This role is an ideal opportunity for an experienced GIS technical consultant who is seeking a specialist GIS environment in which she/he can directly contribute the successful development of the company. 

We seek self-motivated, self-directed and organised individuals, who are able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines, possess good communication skills, and use their initiative, especially when working towards personal and work related goals. The following personal attributes are considered essential:

•A strong team player with the ability to share information, offer support and provide guidance to both colleagues and customers.
•Ability to deliver/manage disparate work streams or lead smaller engagements
•Able to prioritise effectively and work to demanding timelines
•Willing to travel on a national and international basis and to work off site for periods of time throughout the year
•Experience of small (self-directed) to medium scale project management

Education

•Essential educated up to at least BSc at 2:1, in GIS, ICT and Engineering or related discipline.

•Desirable educated to MSc

Other Relevant Factors


•British Citizen (foreign nationals by exception) holding a High Level Security clearance (or willingness/ ability to achieve clearance).
•Resident in the UK for the last ten years.
•Willing to travel on a national and international basis and to work off site for short periods of time throughout the year.
•The role will require regular attendance at the company offices in Gloucestershire with the remainder of the time on client sites or, by exception, home working.
