Dear Colleagues,
I am writing you to kindly request for any useful information on PhD
studentships/scholarships for Disability Studies or related Social
Sciences, particularly Sociology, which I could apply to as an
international blind student from Zimbabwe. To say I desperately need
your assistance in this regard is an understatement. My future
basically hinges on acquiring PhD because, while I currently work as a
lecturer in Special Needs Education at a small but growing institution
here in Zimbabwe called Reformed Church University (albeit with a
Masters Degree), I, along with all those working in institutions of
higher education without PhDs, will lose our jobs come end of 2015. I
have been frantically searching for scholarships since 2008 when I
completed my MA at Leeds University, to no avail.
I will be very grateful for any advice or concrete assistance you can
offer in this regard.
Thank you.
Kindest regards,
Kudzai Shava
