Subject: [Equality and Diversity at LSE] Black Academia in Britain
Equality and Diversity at LSE has posted a new item, 'Black Academia in
Britain'
While the issue of representation and experiences of Black people in academia is
not new, recent initiatives, such as setting up of a network for Black British
academics and efforts to institute British Black Studies, have refocussed its
context. In this comprehensive and challenging post, Dr Robbie Shilliam,
dissects data and reports to demonstrate how much more work needs to be done so
Black people in Britain don't have to struggle to get proper access to
institutions that they are supposed to be entitled to.
