For those of you sitting sorting seeds this summer, there is some interesting listening from the BBC.
The 25-part series "Plants: from roots to riches", presented by Kathy Willis and based on Kew's work, is currently about halfway through. Most topics will be of interest to planty people, but some episodes of particular interest include Vavilov (7 August, with Dorian Fuller) and medicines (tomorrow). You can read more about the series on my blog:
http://www.kew.org/discover/blogs/economic-botany-radio-4
The series can be heard live on BBC Radio 4 each day at 13.45, also via the web, and as downloads for MP3 players, smart phones etc, all from the BBC website:

Unlike TV programmes, BBC radio programmes can be heard worldwide.
