NDORMS Senior Research Fellow in Clinical Trials/Applied Statistics (113933)
Grade 9: Salary in the range £44,620 - £51,702 per annum with a discretionary range up to £56,482 per annum
We are seeking an experienced and ambitious candidate for the post of Senior Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences, to work within the Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU) and the Centre for Statistics in Medicine (CSM) at the Botnar Research Centre in Oxford.
Responsibilities will include contributing to the design and delivery of clinical trials across a range of different clinical settings and phases. You will work closely with the OCTRU Senior Team as well as clinicians and researchers to increase the number of externally funded clinical trials, ensure success in terms of funding applications to a wide range of UK and international funding programmes, and advise on the successful delivery of trials in NHS settings. You will also contribute to a thriving, world class research programme on trials methodology led by Professors Doug Altman and Sallie Lamb.
You will hold a PhD with a substantial relation to medical statistics and clinical trials or equivalent qualifications and experience. Good project management skills and experience of managing trials and formal training in research management are essential. You will also be highly computer literate and have a good publication record. Experience of teaching, facilitating and delivering formal training in clinical trials, and previous involvement in the strategic or business development of a research unit or group would be desirable.
This is a full-time fixed-term appointment for 5 years in the first instance.
