I just fed SCIPIO into the forename section of FREEBMD, a summary of birth, marriage and death registrations in England and Wales. There were about 18 births registered with that name between 1842 and 1893. Most of the surnames are standard "English" but Scipione Borgoeni and Scipio Mussabini suggest the forename was not limited to "British" users.
They can't all have had large feet.

The name Scipio Africanus was more closely associated with the
Roman general of that name:
*Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus*(236–183 BC), also known as *Scipio the
African*, *Scipio Africanus-Major*,*Scipio Africanus the Elder*, and *Scipio
the Great*[1] was
a general in theSecond Punic War
and statesman of the Roman
Republic . He was best known
for defeating Hannibal at the
final battle of the Second Punic War atZama
, a feat that earned him the
agnomen *Africanus*, the nickname
"the Roman Hannibal", as well as recognition as one of the finest
commanders in military history. He had given a great display of his
tactical abilities before this at the Battle of Ilipa
.
