The University for the Creative Arts, at Farnham, Surrey are recruiting for a maternity cover Archive Cataloguer vacancy, for the Animation Archives of Bob Godfrey. Bob Godfrey (1921-2014),was the 2D animator behind the first Oscar winning animation 'Great (lives and times of Isambaard Brunel) in 1975. The archive contains scripts, storyboards, acetate cels, line drawings, correspondence and photographs, and provides an illuminating insight into the process behind and innovative techniques within animation. Of particular interest to Animators, Fine Artists, Graphic Designers, and Film Production, themes within the archive including marketing & branding, propaganda and politics, misogyny, animation and censorship, caricatures and cartoons.
Newly qualified Archivists are welcome to apply
An interest in/knowledge of art archives and a knowledge behind preservation issues surrounding acetate cels would be desirable
