Alejandro,
Make sure that if you run FreeRADIUS in debug mode, that a) you run it as 'freerad' (on Debian systems) or 'radiusd' (on RHEL systems) and that you've typed 'unset DISPLAY' beforehand.
That's caught me out a few times.
