Dr Giorgia Aiello (http://ics.leeds.ac.uk/people/giorgia-aiello/) is looking for a full-time research assistant from October 1 2014 to March 31 2015 at Grade 6 for the research project “Globalization, Visual Communication, Difference”. The project is funded by a Marie Curie International Reintegration Grant from the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Programme.
This post will contribute to the development and publication of research on the relationship between visual and global communication in areas of inquiry such as photography, branding and urban space. Outputs related to the project will include a research-led textbook on visual communication and media culture, conference and other research presentations, several research events to be hosted by the School of Media and Communication’s Visual and Digital Cultures Research Group, and both articles and book chapters on topics including but not limited to stock photography, corporate logos, protest and activist imagery, and the aesthetics of urban regeneration.
