Salary: £55,000 – £58,000 depending on experience
Greater Manchester Arts Centre Ltd (GMAC) has forged a partnership with Manchester School of Art (MSoA) with the support of the BFI to create this new post of Artistic Director Film. The post-holder will lead on film for HOME, our distinctive new venue that builds on the track record of Cornerhouse as one of the most successful independent cinemas in the UK, and will also be a part-time research Professor within MSoA.
The successful candidate will combine an extensive knowledge of contemporary and historical film with a proven track record of programming and curating film for the widest possible audiences at a national or international level. You will have the ability to set cultural agendas for film and be able to draw upon a wide range of national and international contacts and networks in doing so. Candidates will have a track record of academic quality research in film although this does not necessarily need to have been in an academic setting.
This is an exciting and challenging new role and the post-holder will be playing a major part in shaping the creative future of this company.
