The Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) has the pleasure of sharing with you its latest briefing paper on the internal displacement situation in Central African Republic (CAR), the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), South Sudan and Sudan.
Together these four countries host 7.15 million internally displaced persons (IDPs) as of July 2014 - that is 55 per cent of IDPs in sub-saharan Africa .The briefing paper points out the importance of taking into account regional dynamics. It further highlights the need for stronger and more timely funding to both humanitarian and development initiatives. It concludes by exploring cross-country learning opportunities in the response to internal displacement.
