Dear all,

Temporary or Secondment Opportunity, to 31 March 2015.
The British Library has an internationally renowned collection of archives and manuscripts which grow year on year. To modernise the management and access to the collection, the Library has developed a cataloguing and management system - the Integrated Archives and Manuscripts System (IAMS) – alongside a public access system – Search Our Catalogue Archives and Manuscripts (SoCAM).
Working in the Collection Metadata team, you will provide key business co-ordination for a major new project ‘Completing the Integration of Manuscripts and Archives’ (CP13). This includes working across the Library to introduce new study areas to IAMS and enable users to seamlessly request access to collection items via SoCAM as well as put the sharing of data with national and international federated services on a sustainable footing.
This is a challenging role requiring a person with extensive professional knowledge and experience in automated cataloguing and access to unique materials as well as of metadata manipulation, migration and re-use. You will either possess a professional qualification in archive, library or information management or have significant work experience in a research library, archive or similar institution. With strong communication, negotiation and problem resolution skills you will also have the ability to work accurately with attention to detail.
Closing date: 17 July 2014.
