Project Officer - Digitising the Edwin Morgan scrapbooks.
University of Glasgow.
Part-time (28 hours per week), October 2014-March 2016.
Salary: £26,527-£29,837 per annum, pro rata.
Closing date: 10 August 2014.
The post holder will be an integral member of a research team working on the CREATe-funded project 'Copyright and Diligent Search: Digitising the Edwin Morgan Scrapbooks'. Edwin Morgan (1920-2010) is recognised as one of Scotland's greatest poets. His scrapbooks, compiled between the 1930s and 1960s, are among his earliest creative works and are part of the extensive Edwin Morgan papers held by Special Collections, University of Glasgow Library.
The project explores the impact of EU and UK copyright policy on the digitisation of archive and unique and distinctive collections. The post holder will undertake a rights clearance simulation on selected extracts from the Edwin Morgan Scrapbooks, locating original rights-holders, and negotiating permission to make available their work as part of the digitisation process.
