We are seeking a graduate with an interest in archives to carry out administrative and customer service duties in the University Archives unit. The duties include supervision of the Archives reading room, dealing with enquiries from personal visitors or by email and collection and re-shelving of archival materials. The postholder will contribute, where appropriate, to project work and associated promotional work.
This post includes a requirement to work one bank holiday each academic year, when working times may not be those normally worked.
The post is 14 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work:
Monday – 9am-5pm
AND
Wednesday - 9.30am-1pm OR 1.30pm-5pm (time to be agreed with the successful candidate)
AND EITHER
Tuesday OR Thursday 9.30am-1pm OR 1.30pm-5pm (day and time to be agreed with the successful candidate)
We would like the agreed work pattern to be fixed for the duration of the post.
The post is Fixed Term from 22nd September 2014 until 8th May 2015 to provide staff study leave cover. Starting salary will be in the range £20,080 per annum pro rata to hours and weeks worked, inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave pro rata, defined benefit pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
