Hi,
It's not something we do here although we do have something called the University Prize which goes to the student with the highest overall average within each School. This isn't recognised on their certificate but is indicated in the Graduation Proceedings with an asterisk.

An External Examiner has recommended that we recognise outstanding students who gain a First Class Honours degree with an average over 80% with a 'Starred First'. Could you let me know if this is something that is considered by your institution and whether this is formally recorded on the certificate or if it is something in the form of a letter or recorded on the transcript.
