Dear all,
I am very happy to announce the publication of VOL 3 ISSUE 1 2014 'Crossing Boundaries' here at the South Asianist: http://www.southasianist.ed.ac.uk/index
The South Asianist

Special thanks to my outgoing co-editor Heid Jerstad for her huge efforts in getting this issue ready, as well as the formidable editorial team, peer-reviewers, contributing authors, and of course Professor Crispin Bates and the Centre for South Asian Studies - our publisher.
The South Asianist is an Open Access journal at Edinburgh University, and I am proud to say we are now the third largest online journal at the university by volume of downloads. Our week-by-week inflow of submissions from postgraduates, early researchers and established scholars is such that we have stopped our regular CfPs - an extraordinary feat since we started in October 2011.
This issue is edited from a massive 'back-log' of submissions we received while putting together our special issue edited by renown film critic Piyush Roy (also our Senior Editor) in December 2013 and which may be found at http://www.southasianist.ed.ac.uk/issue/view/59
Vol 2, No 3 (2013)

Nonetheless, at 300 pages it is also our largest, and covers a wide range of issues and topics from across the disciplines and regions of South Asia.
Please circulate this message widely, and consider publishing with us or using our publications (which you may reproduce freely) in your curricula (our hats off to Prof. Veena Das for taking the lead and using our stuff!).
Warmest regards,
?
