Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position in the Biological
Psychology group (Prof. Dr. Bianca Wittmann) at the University of
Giessen, Germany.
The position will be available from September (with a flexible starting
date) for a duration of 2.5 years. The project will investigate the
influence of contextual novelty on reward-based learning and
decision-making using fMRI and also leaves room to the candidate's ideas
in designing experiments on motivation and decision making. The
department offers an on-site research-dedicated 3T MRI scanner (Siemens
Prisma) with eye-tracking and peripheral physiology equipment.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates with a PhD in
neuroscience, psychology, biology or a related field. The candidate will
be expected to work collaboratively to collect and analyze fMRI data,
prepare manuscripts for publication, and present results at
international meetings. Additional duties include 2 hours/week of
undergraduate teaching (approx. 30 weeks/calendar year). Candidates
should have good programming skills, fluency in English, and experience
with fMRI and/or computational modeling of learning or decision making.
