Things come around again: it's not so uncommon these days to refer to
oneself as "freaking out" over something.
Now that you mention it, though, an earlier poem's reference to "lysergic
brain-melt" suggests a possible implicit theme; the sequence seems to be
generally about altered brain-states, although more those associated with
depressive and manic episodes than those brought on by substance-use.
