Dear Stefan and Teena,
When I was thinking about the "change" factors, gender was only one of the
factors in my list. This discussion shows the sensitivity of this topic, or
in other words sensitivity of social norms around it. Your examples are so
interesting and helpful for understanding the contemporary trends.
However, let me connect this factor to some other factors. If you check my
slide show you will see that wealth shift to Asia and the role of emerging
economies is one of the most important change factors.
The question is: I feel ( it is not a scientific statement, only a personal
feeling) that lots of these example can be seen as the extensions of sex
revolution as a Western phenomenon. We actually don't know how emergence of
new world powers with non-Western cultural settings will affect these
norms. Do you have any idea about it?
