Please find attached the full programme for Real, Ideal or Implied...? The Reader in Stylistics Symposium, sponsored by PALA. We are excited to have a great line up of speakers and invite you to join us for what promises to be a memorable day!
This free event will take place on Tuesday 24th June 2014, in the School of English at the University of Nottingham. All are welcome to attend- see below for registration details.
The symposium will explore the theoretical and methodological questions surrounding the reader in stylistics. The day will consist of scholarly papers which explore such issues through specific textual analysis. Topics to be covered include:
• Individual and social reading practices (reading groups, social networks and digital reading);
• Empirical methodologies vs. introspective approaches;
• Reading as a text-controlled process
• Genre and reading strategies
