Closing Date : Wed, 16 Jul 2014 11:00:00 GMT | Grade 7: £29,837 - £36,661 p.a.
The Health Experiences Research Group (led by Professor Sue Ziebland) is seeking a social scientist experienced in qualitative studies of cancer and within 7 years of having been awarded a doctorate qualification.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early career qualitative cancer researcher to take part in some important cross cultural work to help understand variations in cancer outcomes. The postholder will conduct research using in-depth interviews for a 2 year project on patient experiences of cancer diagnosis (lung and colorectal) in England and later engage in comparative work with collaborators in Sweden and Denmark. The project is funded by the National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative (NAEDI), which is a partnership between the Department of Health, National Cancer Action Team and Cancer Research UK.
You will hold a PhD in a relevant subject, gained not more than 7 years prior 1 October 2014 and have proven experience of qualitative research on cancer experiences, with excellent interpersonal and qualitative analysis skills.
The post is available full-time, fixed-term for 2 years.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on Wednesday 16 July 2014. We plan to hold interviews on Tuesday 29 July 2014.
