The MeCCSA Postgraduate Network is calling for nominations to join the PGN Executive Committee for the 2014/2015 academic year.

***We are especially looking for nominations for the role of Chair and Vice Chair.***

You need to include: your name, institution, year of study, the role you wish to apply for, and a brief statement (maximum 100 words) on your relevant skills/interests.

We are looking for applications for the following positions:
---Chair---
The Chair is responsible for the day-to-day running of the network, liaising between the PGN membership, the PGN executive board and the main body of MeCCSA. The main duties include, ensuring the successful coordination of all MeCCSA PGN events and activities, including overseeing the MeCCSA PGN Annual Conference and the newly established Regional Events. The Chair is also responsible for applying and managing financial budgets for the postgraduate network. Other duties include chairing all PGN executive meetings and representing the network at any other meetings.
---Secretary/Vice-Chair---
The Secretary / Vice Chair is responsible for keeping records of post-graduate network activities. The main duties and responsibilities include minute taking at meetings of the PGN (at least 3 per year) and the subsequent circulation of those minutes among the PGN executive committee, as well as circulating other information pertinent to the committee's operation. This role also requires supporting the network Chair with the co-ordination of all MeCCSA PGN events and activities. In circumstances when the Chair is unable to chair meetings, the Secretary fills this role.
---Journal Editor---
Networking Knowledge is the journal for MeCCSA's Postgraduate Network. It provides a platform for postgraduate and early career researchers to publish work and get practice in all aspects of the peer review system. The journal features specially-themed sections that are proposed by guest editors, as well as inviting individual articles on any of MeCCSA's subject areas. The Journal Editor oversees all aspects of the process, from seeking and selecting proposals from prospective guest editors, sending submitted articles out for peer review, supporting guest editors in the editing of drafts and preparing final proofs for publication.
---Outreach Officer---
The Outreach Officer of the MeCCSA PGN operates as a liaison between the committee board and postgraduates who require support and assistance from the MeCCSA-PGN. As an Outreach Officer you can expect to be the first point of contact for many postgraduates approaching the committee and serve as a signposting for any help that the board can offer. You will also co-ordinate the MeCCSA PGN Rep scheme that invites PGN students to promote the network at their own institutions. You will also develop ideas by which to promote the network and encourage further postgraduate and participation in the network.
---Communications Officer---
The Communications Officer is responsible for planning, developing and delivering the web-based communications of the MeCCSA Postgraduate Network. The main duties and responsibilities include circulating information on upcoming events relevant to the postgraduate community, updating the website with information on all the activities of the PG network and uploading bi-annual issues of Networking Knowledge, the journal of the MeCCSA PGN.
---Training Officer---
The Training Officer monitors and researches contemporary issues relevant for PG training and communicates these issues to the network. The main duty is to develop the training programme at the MeCCSA PGN Conference in collaboration with the conference organisers. The Training Officer would also work together with PGN members and their home institutions if they wished to set up training events for postgraduates and organise a training event at their home institution.
