Hi Belinda,
There's a few resources on this I'd point you towards:
Derby Museums' Digital Engagement Strategy is a nice example which
covers both the Strategy and the process they used to develop it:
http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/discover/sustaining-digital/1944-derby
-museums-digital-engagement-strategy
There's a blog post on 'Going Digital: Digital Strategy' up at
http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/blog/2174-going-digital-part-2-digital
-strategy
I would always recommend having a look at Jim Richardson and Jasper
Visser's 'Digital Engagement Framework', and particularly the free
e-book as a good place to start:
http://www.digitalengagementframework.com/
I would also strongly recommend a look at the tate Digital Strategy
2013-15 'Digital as a Dimension of Everything':

rategy-2013-15-digital-dimension-everything
Hope this helps!

Subject: [MCG] Digital Strategy
Hello,
The National Football Museum is working to produce a Digital Strategy in
preparation for starting a project to make our existing digital assets
available online.
This is a new area of work for the Museum and I would like to know if
anyone has an example of a simple Digital Strategy that they would be
willing to share with me or if there is a website resources that I can
use.
Many thanks,
Belinda Monkhouse
