Hi,
Please find below details of our new course, which might be of interest to members of this list.
The Digital Preservation Training Programme are pleased to announce our new course, ‘DPTP: An Introduction to Digital Preservation’. The first instance will be delivered on 21st – 22nd July 2014.
Course Overview
-----------------------
This entry-level two-day long course is aimed at complete beginners who wish to learn more about the field. It is ideal for starters in all disciplines who want to know more about digital preservation.
The course is very much a starting point, focussed on raising awareness and familiarising participants with the main subject areas and trends around digital preservation. We aim to give those attending a good grounding in digital preservation so that they can feel confident in tackling further reading afterwards and engaging with practical follow-up training and/or experience on their own behalf.
Our course complements the regular Digital Preservation Coalition Event “Getting Started in Digital Preservation”, and has been devised in full co-operation with the DPC.
The DPTP is working towards conformance with the skills and competency levels defined by the DigCurV Curriculum Framework. The course “An Introduction to Digital Preservation” is aimed at Practitioners at a Basic level. This means that the course teaches a basic awareness of a given subject area, including basic knowledge of the range of issues that shape developments in the subject area. Practitioner Skills will enable a digital preservation professional to plan and execute a variety of technical tasks, both individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
