My name is David Fraser and I am a postgraduate research student at Plymouth University, currently researching the barriers that prevent disabled people from participating in tourism. This is an issue I am very interested in because I am disabled and have travelled extensively. This is an area that has not been widely researched before. One of the aims of this study is to create a better understanding of disabled people’s needs as tourists or potential tourists, leading to better services within the tourism industry. To this end, I have created a website, which includes an online questionnaire and I am requesting that you encourage anyone who is disabled and over 16 years of age to look at the website and complete the anonymous questionnaire. The more data I collect, the more accurate the results and conclusions will be. The website address is; http://www.pbs.plymouth.ac.uk/teamweb/davidsblog/ The website also includes my travel blog where people can post comments and photographs about their experiences as disabled tourists. Therefore, I would be grateful if you could make people aware of my website. My supervisors are Professors Paul Brunt and Sheela Agarwal. Please feel free to contact me or my supervisors ([log in to unmask], [log in to unmask]) if you require any clarification about my research. Regards, David Fraser
