Records Assistant, Boots UK, Nottingham
Salary £17,000
Boots is one of the most familiar and trusted stores on the UK high street, with an archive collection spanning four centuries.
The company archive has been operational for over 16 years and contains a diverse collection of documentation, audio-visual/electronic records and museum objects illustrating our 165 years of trading - firstly as a herbalist and latterly as chemists, healthcare and beauty retailers. Our small team of archivists and records managers provides a fully integrated business archive and records management service at Boots support office for our commercial, new product development, legal, trademarks and public relations teams, throughout the Alliance Boots Group.
As part of our annual training position as Records Assistant (12 month contract), you will get a broad introduction to the world of business archives and records management, with good practical exposure to a full range of professional activities, experiencing working life in a dynamic and successful records team with the opportunity to visit other archives and attend training events.
The role covers a wide range of duties, but the key focus for the postholder is to support the daily operational activity of the records management service, assisting with customer queries and ensuring compliance with records management procedures. There will also be some opportunities to get involved in archive research and outreach events.
The post-holder should be a graduate (or about to graduate) with a view to pursuing a career in archives/records management.
