*Call for Manuscript Proposals: HAU presents The Malinowski Monographs book
series*
Following our new partnership with University of Chicago Press, the editors
of the HAU Book Series are delighted to launch an international competition
for manuscript proposals for new, state-of-the-art monographs in
anthropology. Proposals selected for publication will be published in our
upcoming series, *The Malinowski Monographs*, distributed on HAU's website (
www.haujournal.org) in Open Access format and in paperback (priced US
$14.99-$29.99) via the University of Chicago Press. We are also welcoming
short monographs (40–50,000 words) focusing on a specific conceptual
engagement from the bottom-up (i.e. money, witchcraft, love, friendship,
imagination, belief, voice, etc.). We encourage both junior and senior
scholars to submit proposals.

*Join us with Cheers and Thanks to Stéphane Gros*
With this issue, we would like to extend our admiration and gratitude to
our journal's Managing Editor, Stéphane Gros, whose editorial cycle has now
ended. Without Stéphane, HAU would not be what it has become today.
Although Stéphane will remain with us as an Editor-at-large, he can finally
take a deserved break from the core editorial work and return full time to
his scholarly endeavors. He is replaced by the equally heroic Sean Dowdy,
who is now Managing Editor of both the journal and the new HAU book series,
in partnership with the University of Chicago Press. Stéphane’s sterling
attention for detail and editorial wisdom, his comradeship and friendship,
his determination, resilience, and dedication to HAU’s mission have been
exemplary. We wish him a return to a clearer desk and success in his future
scholarship. Please join us in our thanks to Stéphane.

*Join HAU at this summer’s EASA Biennial Conference*
Last but not least, HAU will be at the 13th EASA Biennial Conference at
Talinn University in Estonia, 31st July – 3rd August, 2014. Our Associate
Editor Julie Billaud and her team of Social Media Interns are currently
planning some activities, so come and meet us, join us for a drink, chat
anthropology, chat open access, and hear more about our current projects.
