The Unit of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, University of Verona, in cooperation with the Italian Society of Clinical Epidemiology and Medical Statistics (SISMEC), The Italian Society of Epidemiology (AIE) and The Italian Society of Hospital Pneumologists (AIPO), are organizing the 1st International Workshop on "Large Scale Population-Based Surveys on Respiratory Health in Italy and Europe", which will take place in Verona on 23-24 October 2014.
The Workshop is aimed at presenting the design and the main results from the largest worldwide epidemiological collaborative research projects, undertaken in the last years to investigate respiratory health in children and adults. The European and Italian principal investigators, directly involved in these surveys, will illustrate their findings on the main determinants of respiratory diseases, disease evolution with time and socio-economic burden. The Workshop will offer a unique opportunity to scientists, pneumologists, allergologists, pediatricians and other health professionals to get an overview of the most advanced ongoing researches in respiratory epidemiology, to debate some crucial topics for the validity of the data and models used, and to discuss how to deal with the future challenges of the research on respiratory health.
