Hi Andy,
We have been asked to only include a few sentences of a release with the link to read more. This is what I have done in this case. It is very likely that some media releases from Brill are more interesting to this audience than others.
Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. That is of course not our intention.
Best,
Lauren

Although interesting and honourable is this list an appropriate channel for media alerts/press releases? I thought it had been raised before as not being appropriate as it dilutes the point of the list.
Best wishes to all,
Andy

Brill donates over 800 frontlist titles to Universities in the Philippines
Leiden (NL) / Boston (MA) - 19 June 2014
Brill, the international scholarly publisher, donated over 800 frontlist titles to three universities in the Philippines. The donations are part of Brill's Adopt A Library Program<http://www.brill.com/about/brills-developing-countries-program/brills-adopt-library-program>, where each year the company donates a collection of frontlist titles to one or more libraries in developing countries.
The donations consisted of a collection of over 500 books to the Philippines top educational institution, the University of the Philippines (UP), 200 books to Silliman University, and 100 books to Foundation University in Dumaguete. Each donation of scholarly books covers subject areas in the Humanities, Social Sciences, International Law and Biology, which match the research areas of the institutions and Brill's core publishing programs.
Coinciding with each donation, Liesbeth Kanis, Brill's Development Manager for Asia, also held publishing workshops on "How to Get Your Research Published Internationally," which, at UP, drew nearly a hundred academics and scholars. The 3-hour workshops introduced Filipino academics and PhD students to international publishing.
