Sue Rabbitt Roff's "Hotspots: Legacy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki" is an interesting book on contamination, survivors and medicalisation
more recently, there was a great non-fiction graphic novel called: "Trinity: A graphic history of the first Atom bomb"by Jonathan Fetter Vorm which is well worth a look.
