Dear All,
As some of you may be aware, BBSRC has a Bioscience for Society Strategy Panel that provides strategic input on the social dimensions of the conduct and outcomes of research supported by BBSRC (http://www.bbsrc.ac.uk/organisation/structures/panels/society/society-index.aspx). We are currently recruiting for new Panel members and are looking for expertise that may be relevant to people on this list.
The expertise we are looking for is:
• Science communication, particularly communication with the public through the media. Expertise in public attitudes towards science would be valuable.
• Science education in schools, particularly experience of the links between science education and scientific research and researcher.
• In addition, we are looking for a panel Chair. Applicants should have expertise relevant to the work of the Bioscience for Society Strategy Panel (this could be wider than the expertise outlined above, see Panel Terms of Reference), as well as an ability to chair senior advisory panels.
If you or a colleague might be interested in joining the Panel, further details of how to apply can be found here http://www.bbsrc.ac.uk/news/people-skills-training/2014/140512-n-call-strategy-panels-pool-experts-fof.aspx. Or feel free to contact me off list to find out more about the panel’s work. The closing date is 16 June.
Best wishes,
Emma
