Just to agree with everything B said.
I would consider if the film can be made without using children.

Please be careful when filming children and children in schools and under what sort of licence you make it available. The permission of the Head would be required, also parental permissions. You would need to ensure all the information is provided to Head for parents on usage etc. Insurance for location is usually in place before filming. Anyone without experience of filming children, teachers etc should not be let loose without having an experienced hand there. The skill of the filming which includes children will provide the guide to whether or not the finished product is suitable for open access. Sometimes the activities involving children are more important than too much shots of children. A skilled producer will know this. If open access is part of the objective, then focus on what is required and for what purpose. Children should not be identifiable if being used online. Cheers Bernie

Subject: Filming in schools - any experience?
Hi All,
Has anyone on this list produced any films that they've released under CC, which entailed filming in schools? If so could you get in touch please?
I have a project entitled 'Short films, big impact' which will involve some filming of schoolchildren and I would welcome advice from those who may have done this already.
Thanks as always,
Jackie
