The Horniman Museum in collaboration with the ICON Ethnography Conservation Group, ICON Textile group and the Natural Sciences Collections Association (NatSCA) are pleased to announce a one day conference on Thursday 19 June 2014 at the Horniman Museum & Gardens, 100 London Road ,Forest Hill, London SE23 3PQ, UK.
Hair is used in many shapes and forms.This conference will provide a broad forum for different disciplines to talk about the conservation of these intriguing museum objects.
Speakers include:
The conservation-restoration of two human hair wigs belonging to a late 17th century Holy Child from Spain/Naples(?) and an 18th century Holy Child from Spain, sculptures from the Musée d’art et d’histoire de Chaumont, France.
