Apolos if you've seen this already, but the opportunity below might be of interest to an AHRC-funded PhD student in a media/comms/journalism/cult studies dept working on a relevant topic?

Subject: Joint AHRC and Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology Postgraduate Fellowship 2014
Dear Sir/Madam
I am writing to you on behalf of the AHRC to inform you of a placement opportunity for AHRC-funded PhD students which we intend to run again this year after successfully offering the same opportunity for the previous 2 years. As I am writing to different groups of people there is a chance that you may get a version of this e-mail mail more than once. Please forgive me if that does happen.
We are working in partnership with the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST) to offer a three month fellowship based at the POST offices in Westminster. This is as a chance for doctoral students to develop experience of working within a policy environment and writing policy briefings to inform parliamentarians about science and technology issues.
We would appreciate it if you could circulate this notice to all AHRC-funded doctoral students and any other interested parties to make them aware of this opportunity.
Full documentation, including the guidance document and application form can as well as the link to the Applicants Survey on Smart Survey can be found on the AHRC website using the following link:

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about this.
Many Thanks,
Pete Henly
