Dear MCG,
a quick note to announce our final speaker for Museums Get Mobile! Dan
Goodwin from the agency fffunction, will talk about 'Commissioning a big
web project when you're not sure what you want' (sound familiar?).
Ticket sales close on Tuesday, so don't delay!
http://museumsgetmobile.eventbrite.com/
We're always looking for ways to help you connect with other attendees, and
we know that a lot of you will have your own hard-won experience with
commissioning web projects, prioritising content from different
departments, balancing accessibility with design, etc, so we've organised
'birds of a feather' tables for lunch and the afternoon session. They're
based around helping you connect with peers in similar situations, whether
that's a local authority museum, small, medium or large museum, or some
other kind of institution. These smaller groups create an informal
opportunity to discuss what you've heard in the morning sessions, and
reality check it for your museum. As a table you can write down the issues
you struggle with when commissioning or doing digital work in museums - you
can put these questions to speakers in the afternoon session (and we'll
later anonymise and document them as feedback to funders and agencies).
This is a chance to have your voice heard!
Cheers, Mia
