Hi folks
I've just published an article on using lego in public libraries some of you may find useful. It's intended to be very practical, explaining why you should have lego events, what you will need and how to do it, including online resources and suggested themes. The page was put together with the aid of award-winning Australian librarian Jo Beazley as well as contributions from the US and the UK. I especially liked the idea of using duplo with pre-schoolers to make story characters.
Anyway, the page is at http://www.publiclibrariesnews.com/practitioners/promotional-techniques-and-marketing/lego-in-libraries if you want to have a look. Do let me know if any of your libraries have lego clubs and if you want to contribute or change anything on the page: it's intended to be updated as new stuff comes in (like almost all Public Libraries News pages).
May I also take this opportunity to ask for any public library news/comments to be sent to me at [log in to unmask] for inclusion on the blog and to remind everyone that subscription is free via the righthand box at www.publiclibrariesnews.com.
Regards
Ian Anstice
