Dear JiscMail-Newsletter subscribers
A few weeks ago we told you about changes to Yahoo! security settings on their email servers which affected the JiscMail service (see: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?A2=JISCMAIL-NEWSLETTER;443f4fcf.1404 ). Since then you may have also seen that AOL have made similar changes to their security settings.
I'm pleased to confirm that as of Friday 25th April, our service providers, L-Soft, have implemented a solution to work with these email configurations. Everything is now running normally on JiscMail, and subscribers with Yahoo! and AOL email address can post messages to JiscMail lists.
The only change you may notice is that when an email is sent from a Yahoo! or AOL subscriber, their email address is replaced by a unique JiscMail address, but the sender's full name is still displayed. If you reply directly to this address, your message will be forwarded to the original sender by JiscMail. In the list archives you'll see the original email address as usual.
All JiscMail list owners have been notified and asked to circulate (if relevant) so you may receive a similar messages via lists you are subscribed to, apologies for the duplication (not all JiscMail customers members of the JISCMAIL-NEWSLETTER).
Also - a quick reminder that the JiscMail Helpline ([log in to unmask]) will be closed for the May bank holidays (Monday 5th and 26th May), hope you enjoy the long weekends.
All the best,
Lisa
