Thanks Graham, we're more than happy to have this strategy shared!
For those who don't know, it has taken 3 years of blood, sweat and tears to
arrive at this finished SHED Strategy (and apologies for the cheesy name,
but at least the acronym sticks in your mind!). The real work of actually
implementing it has now begun through 3 workstreams with the action plans
and priorities being thrashed out as I write. For progress updates please
keep an eye on the SMR Forum website and if anyone has any queries on the
process followed to get to this point, how we're going about the next steps
etc feel free to get in touch with the SHED Programme Board (due to meet
for the first time on the 8th May).
cheers

|SHED (Scotland's Historic Environment Data) strategy |
>--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
I’m sure my Scottish colleagues won’t mind me sharing with you the SHED (
Scotland’s Historic Environment Data) strategy, that was launched in April.
You can find out more on the SMR Forum Scotland website:
http://smrforum-scotland.org.uk/shed/
The strategy see’s Scotland’s Historic Environment Data as the
collaborative national public information resource for the historic
environment. To quote “This joint venture between local and national bodies
comprises shared and linked digital records. It will be professionally
managed, continually updated, and accessible to all, ensuring the greatest
economic, social and cultural benefits for the people of Scotland and
beyond.”
You can download a copy of the full strategy document (and access lots more
background info) on the website.
Cheers,
Graham
