JOURNAL ON EDUCATION IN EMERGENCIES
Call for Papers
The Journal on Education in Emergencies (www.ineesite.org/en/journal) seeks to publish groundbreaking and outstanding scholarly and practitioner work on education in emergencies (EiE). The Journal invites submissions of papers for its two sections: EiE Research and EiE Field Notes.
. EiE Research articles use a clearly articulated research design and methods, an explicit theoretical or conceptual framework, and contribute to the evidence-base and the advancement of knowledge on EiE. Articles that develop new EiE theoretical or conceptual frameworks, or challenge existing ones, will also be considered. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches are welcome.
. EiE Field Notes articles demonstrate progress and/or challenges in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating EiE policies and programs. Articles on the development and application of tools and resources on EiE and articles exploring links between EiE and traditional humanitarian sectors will also be considered.
Manuscripts cover topics or questions relating to emergency education response in natural disasters, conflict/fragile states and complex emergencies, conflict sensitive education, attacks on education, education for peacebuilding, peace education, conflict mitigation and reduction, education and fragility, resilience, transitions from emergency through recovery to development, and forced migration and education. The Journal welcomes EiE manuscripts addressing education at any point along the continuum of prevention, preparedness, response, recovery through to development.
In addition, manuscripts linking EiE with thematic issues are also appropriate. These include gender, inclusive education, human rights, HIV/AIDS, inter-sectoral links, protection, psychosocial support, youth and adolescents, early childhood development, disaster risk reduction, etc. Other topics include benefits in investing in EiE, EiE program administration challenges, capacity development and collaboration with local populations for education delivery, and curricula (revision, renewal, history and identity-issues).
All articles are subject to a double-blind peer review process.
