Statistician – Up to £60k + Bens – West Midlands UK – J7326
A financial services company seeks a self motivated individual with excellent modelling capabilities to fulfil the role of Statistician. The role sits within Pricing and the successful individual will be responsible for a number of statistical models for a variety of business functions.
Role & Responsibilities
• Use different statistical techniques to drive customer, household and creditor experience
• Claims, demand, marketing, geographical and spacial modelling
• Work with a wide range and good quality data
• Opportunity to do Research and Development
• Project based role, working on a number of mini projects
• Line manage 1-2 statisticians
• Take responsibility for training and development of the team to ensure their competency in their roles
Qualification, Experience & Skills
• Degree qualified within a numerical discipline such as Mathematics/Statistics or equivalent
• Experience working in Financial Services, ideally within Insurance
• Strong experience of Linear Modelling techniques
• Excellent experience of modelling using SAS, though equivalent tools will be considered
• Man management experience
• Project management experience advantageous
• Actuarial experience/qualification is advantageous
• Self motivated individual with the ability to act on own initiatives
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels to a wide audience
