Hi,
The boundguess option is a parameter to the optimisation method, and controls how far it starts looking in order to bracket (surround) the nearest minima. I would generally recommend setting it to the same value as the scale, although it is unlikely to matter much whether you change it by a factor of two (but a factor of 10 might have a difference).
