Triad is currently looking to fill 2 vacancies for a client in Cheshire. The clients main business is in the utilities and renewables sector.
The role will be office based mainly but will require some travel so you will need to have your own transport. The client works long hours so you must be prepared to commit to this. However it will be a good way of maximising your take home pay.
Main Task & Responsibilities
To provide mapping support using ArcGIS and AutoCAD to all divisions including Land Referencing, Surveying and Project Management work streams.
To report daily and support the department head with all mapping needs.
To manage all utility searches for both large and small scale projects including the collection, digitising and distribution of data from numerous sources.
To participate in route walking & site surveying using Trimble GeoXH.
Key Knowledge
Use of ArcGIS & AutoCAD to produce maps and plans is essential
Knowledge of data management techniques including conforming to metadata standards
Knowledge and experience of translating between coordinate systems especially onshore and offshore variations around the UK.
Experience working on linear assets (pipelines etc) is desirable but not essential
Experience of using a Trimble machine out in the field.
Qualifications/Experience
Educated to a masters in a relevant geospatial field is required
Candidates will be considered at MSc level.
2+ years' experience, ideally within the utilities industry.
General Requirements
Attention to detail is paramount, candidates must be able to produce outputs which meet strict QA guidelines
Extremely proactive and good work ethic is a must
Experience working to tight deadlines
Ability to deliver work in a timely fashion
Excellent analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skill (some client-facing work will be required)
Full driving licence
Physically fit for route walking/ surveying
Desirables
Educated to an MSc level in relevant geomatics degree
Use of differential GPS, post processing and conversion to CAD/GIS is desirable
