True enough...
but without you developing the tool and steering it through to its current community status - and without the great baton carrying of the developer team - the inspiring folk on this list would have no means for astonishing you :-)

So thankyou..

A

For those of you who attended the February XerteFriday webinar on Maths in Xerte<http://www.jisctechdis.ac.uk/techdis/events/detail/2014/xertefriday28022014> we promised to get you some downloadable examples you could look at and - if you liked them - download as zip files for importing into your own Xerte set up. This gives you the opportunity to then edit them yourselves to see how they worked.

Here's an excerpt from Barbara Nance's excellent and inspiring examples - kindly provided by Barbara for your delectation and delight!

http://vle.jisctechdis.ac.uk/xerte/play_635

There's also another Xerte Recipe to look forward to on the main Xerte website - it's on using connectors to create rich learning resources. I've not uploaded it yet but will let you know as soon as I get a chance to put it up and make it live.

We've also been revamoing the accessibility guidance on the Xerte website<http://www.xerte.org.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=93&Itemid=572&lang=en> to keep up with the improvements. As always, if you identify any problems with accessibility please let me know and we'll do our best to remove barriers as soon as we can - that's the beauty of an open source tool and a great community of developers.

Finally, Inge and I are working on a better way to allow people to upload their own Xerte creations into a showcase "holding area" so we can rotate the showcase content in a more planned way.

As always, please remember that community driven projects benefit from community feedback and participation so if you or your learners have any nice examples to show or stories to tell then please advertise directly via this list. And if you have skills to contribute to extending or supporting the Xerte Website<http://www.xerte.org.uk/> or the tool itself don't hesitate to get in touch. There are exciting things happening and it's a great community to be involved with.

All the best

Alistair
