Symposium “Toward integrated modelling of urban systems”:
Extension of deadline for submitting abstracts to 25th April
We have received a number of requests to postpone the deadline for submitting abstracts. The deadline is extended to 25th April at the latest.

We are happy to announce two confirmed keynote speakers:
- Dr Jason Ching (University of North Carolina), a worldwide known specialist of urban and regional air quality modelling, at the heart of efforts to build a world-wide coverage database for computer models (WUDAPT) for climate, meteorological, dispersion and air quality computer modelling systems.
- Prof. Richard Dawson (University of Newcastle), whose research aims at a city-scale understanding of the inter-relationships between global change, resource consumption, land use and infrastructure systems and subsequently use this understanding to design and adapt cities so that they require fewer resources, are more resilient to climate change and ultimately more sustainable.
Call for abstracts.
Symposium “Toward integrated modelling of urban systems”
15-17th October 2014, Lyon (France).
The symposium is a biennially event of the French Scientific Network “Urban Modelling”. The scope of urban modeling includes the built environment and the physical phenomena, the urban morphologies and the spatial and temporal dynamics, the nature and the living in town. This mobilizes the human and social sciences, the sciences of the environment and the engineering sciences.
The scientific committee of the symposium wishes to favour research papers tackling urban issues from the point of view of the integrated modelling and the removing of barriers between urban dimensions and between disciplines. The selection of the communications will be made by the scientific committee based on long abstracts (3 pages, approximately 1000 words). No full paper will be required for the symposium but initiating special issues in scientific journals will be considered.
Contributions are expected in the following fields
Urban metabolism
Urban mobility
City logistics
Digital city
Urban climate
Natural and anthropogenic physical phenomena
Social, legal and economic phenomena
Urban biodiversity
Energy, water and other resources
