Hi Markus, Donald,
just my 2 cents: in general, I would recommend that if you add a new
subject to the database, you should create a new DARTEL template based
on the whole (n+1) population and re-run processing, lest you treat the
70 existing ones differently than the new ones.
However, I was not sure whether you wanted to compare the single subject
with the 70 subjects or whether you wanted to compare the 71 to some
other dataset. In the first case, you would want to use the same setting
for the single case as for the 70, which of course is already
problematic if you processed the 70 using their own average (as each of
these will now have contributed to the template while the single new one
will not, which already creates a bias). In the second case, it would
depend on how you processed the "other" dataset.
Does that make sense?
Cheers,
Marko
