the Chair of Computer Science in Architecture at the Bauhaus-University Weimar is offering a position for a research assistant / PhD Candidate. The position starts earliest at 01.07.2014 and is initially limited to 1 year. The possibility to extend the duration to a total of 3 years is provided.
Task description:
You participate in the DFG-funded research project "ESUM – Analysing trade-offs between the energy and social performance of urban morphologies”. The work focuses on the design, implementation and evaluation of empirical studies on investigating the relationships between the urban structure and behavioral patterns of city users. Relevant aspects are emotional impact of urban spaces, social interaction and orientation in, as well as identification with a city.

Requirements:
You hold a university degree in psychology or cognitive science or an equivalent field with a basic orientation in the areas of architecture and urbanism. You have strong skills in statistics and statistical software, are detail-oriented and able to think at an abstract scientific level. Your English skills (spoken and written) are very good. Furthermore you are highly motivated, showing individual initiative and willingness for multidisciplinary teamwork and cooperation with other national and international research institutions.
